1. In anatomy, a space or cavity at the opening to a canal, such as the vaginal opening.
ETYMOLOGY: From the Latin vestibulum meaning forecourt.
2. Or: vestibulum vaginae / vaginal vestibule , the space enclosed by the labia minora. The vaginal opening and the urethral opening are within the vestibule.
