Definitions
(Adjective) A state (applied to timber and sawn wood) of having been impregnated under pressure with highly toxic substances such as arsenic or copper to protect against rot. One particular commercial product was marketed under the trade name Tanalin, and the advance in the industry was so useful the particular name became generalised.Usage: I hope those battens are tanalised, otherwise they won't last more than a few years.
