stewardship staircase
Definition
(Noun) A business tool used for visualising the level of delegation and/or initiative required for a particular task/activity. At level 1 the person waits till they are told to do something; at level 2 they will ask if they can do something; at level 3 they will recommend something is done; at level 4 they will take action themselves and immediately report to their superiors; at level 5 they will take action and report periodically to their superiors; and at level 6 they will act on their own.Usage: The stewardship staircase can be useful when deciding the parameters of someone's authority in relation to any given task
