(Noun) The front passenger seat next to the driver. Historically, when stage coaches delivered mail and money, they would hire a man with a shotgun to sit by the driver and ward off any vandals who might attack.Usage: I wanted to sit next to dad while he drove our car, so I said
"I'm riding shotgun."
"I'm riding shotgun."
