ingenuity

(Noun) creativity, ideas, expertise, engineeringUsage: your ingenuity put to use
(Noun) having brilliant ideas
Usage: Ingenuity and daring produce results.
(Noun) Intelligence and knowledge, sure, but flexibility and creativity more than raw brilliance, perhaps.
Usage: Thomas Edison once asked a brilliant new hire what the liquid capacity of a certain light bulb was. Edison then gave the precise answer by tapping a tiny hole in the top and filling it the bulb with water. That's ingenuity.
