cervicitis
Definition
An inflammation of the cervix commonly caused by bacteria or viruses, usually transmitted by sexual contact by such infections are gonorrhea, genital herpes, chlamydia, and genital warts. Cervicitis caused by bacterial or viral infection is treated with antibiotics or antiviral medications.
