Definition
(Noun) A craftsman who works with iron or steel ("the black metals"), shaping objects by heating the material in a forge to make them malleable, and then hammering them upon an anvil. Distinct from a founder, who creates items by melting and casting.Usage: The blacksmith forged a hinge for the barn from a piece of steel.
