acid phosphatase
Definition
An enzyme with a pH optimum of 5.4 normally present in male urine and found in high concentrations in the prostate gland. Some researchers claim it is also present in the fluid known as female ejaculation produced by the Skene's or paraurethral glands, which are homologous to the male prostate.
