October 31st, now a day of lighthearted celebration without particular significance; originally, probably a day of Christian celebration deliberately set to coincide with various harvest festivals and celebrations.Usage: Halloween is almost surely a contraction/corruption of "All Hallows' - i.e. All Saints' - Eve."
(Noun) A holiday where you go door to door and say "Trick or Treat" in a costume to get free candy.
Usage: Micheal dressed as a vampire and knocked on every door on her street and got lots of candy on Halloween.
(Noun) The night before All Saints Day, October 31. Originally a Pagan celebration.
