Definition
(Adjective) A descriptor of malacological reproductive biology, where spawning takes place in spring, and glochidia are expelled during summer.Usage: Hemistena lata is a tachytictic spawner, and successful glochidial infections have been induced in banded sculpin, central stoneroller, fantail darter, streamline chub, Tennessee shiner, and whitetail shiner.
