Rich; stylish; elegant; luxirious; chic; expensive. Popular in the 1920s to the 1940s, rarely heard today. QUOTES:(1) In Sullivan's Travels (1941): ' Don't get ritzy.'
(2) The 'house peeper' Dad Newell (Will Wright) in The Blue Dahlia (1946): ' Maybe I could get tired of being pushed around by cops and hotel managers and ritzy dames in bungalows. Maybe I could cost a little something just for me.'
