Quarantine
Definitions
(Verb) To cut off contact or interaction between certain people and things from the general population most commonly to stop the spread of an illness. Originates from the time of the plague when towns would close their gates for a period of forty days, or a quarantine, to try and slow or prevent the spread of the disease.Usage: Since he caught swine flu, Joe was quarantined in a special section of the hospital.
