(Verb) Talk to God. This consists of adoring Him, thanking Him, confession of sins, asking for Him to meet your and other's needs, and general conversation.

(Verb) To speak to God, through the Holy Spirit, Who directs us in prayer. Prayer includes adoration of God, thanksgiving, confession, praying for others, and yourself, and general conversation. You can pray to God about anything, from 'how long should you boil potatoes' to 'please heal my grandmother.' If you pray in Jesus' Name (which means pray about His will, since Jesus' Name is His very self), He will answer your prayer. Just because you don't get an answer right away, or it doesn't happen, it doesn't mean God hasn't heard your prayer. There is just something better in store.
