Definition
(Noun) Musical instruments characterized by having a vibrating membrane. A common contemporary example is the kazoo, which is a hollow, tapered tube with a diaphragm above a hole in the top of the tube, about one third of the way down from the wide end. It is played by humming into the wide end.Usage: The African horn mirliton is made out of the horn of a cow with a membrane made from the eggshells of spiders.
