(Noun) systematic analysis of a task to eliminate unnecessary action and improve the efficiency of the task. This is part of the procedures used in work study developed by frank taylor in USA in 1880.
This is obviously now gone out of fashion which is why so many companies are now so inefficient.
Usage: method study of the operation reduced the time taken by 45%
