lubricant
Definition
Or: sex lubricant / sex lube / lube , a water-based liquid or jelly used to enhance or replace a woman's natural lubrication. Oil-based lubricants such as vaseline and mineral oil should be avoided for two reasons: 1) they destroy latex upon contact, making them useless for use with condoms; 2) they coat the inside of the vagina and rectum, providing a breeding ground for dangerous bacteria. Most lubricants consist of glycerin, hydroxyethyl cellulose, or propelyene glycol, sometimes with the addition of aloe vera or vitamin E acetate, and always with a pH balancing agent.
