(Noun) Correction to recent addition. Loch is an expanse of water, normally land locked and commonly referred to as Lake. Loch is the common name in Scotland. They are in the main fed by Freshwater rivers and eventually lead to the sea, so are not in fact an arm of the sea, but may be considered so by some.
Usage: The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond.
(Noun) A Scottish "lake" - that's the thing.
Usage: Loch Ness and Loch Lomond are well-known lakes or lake-like bodies of water in Scotland.
