Definition
A generic term for gays and lesbians, one of many terms proposed as a substitute for homosexual by people who felt that word was etymologically bias and confusing since homo can mean same or man , in which case it excludes women. It never caught on.Other terms suggested include: controsexual; feminosexual (as opposed to homo , men); herosexual; homogenic; homophile; homophile; intersexual; simulsexual.
