(Adjective) Something really great if you're talking about surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding. But really bad if you're talking about the pedicure you just got.Usage: "I just landed the most gnarly 360 of the rainbow box ever"

righteous or really awesome; something that a surfer boy would say.
Usage: "dude that's so totally gnarly!!!"
