Definition
(Noun) In Pottery, a kiln fired to melt a glaze. The first firing of clay is called bisque or biscuit firing, and after applying glaze material to the bisqued pottery, the second firing to a higher temperature to produce a glassy surface is called a glaze or glost firing.Usage: Pottery is not suitable for domestic use until it has undergone a glost firing.
