(Noun) The alignment of the shirt buttons, belt buckle, and zipper flap on a cadet/soldier's uniform.Usage: "Cadet, why isn't your gig line straight?"
The alignment of the right edge of the shirt placket (the flap with the button holes), right edge of the belt buckle, and right edge of the pants placket (zipper flap), especially on a military uniform.
Usage: Check your gig line, it's a mess!
(Noun) slang in military for soldiers during inspection of daily work uniform, shirt buttons in line with belt buckle and in line on down to the pants zipper flap.
Usage: "soldier" "straighten up your gig line!
