filament test
Definition
(Noun) A test used to check the touch sensation by a thin nylon filament hat rubs against the sole of your foot. This test uses a monofilament made up of nylon. Normally the test is used to assess if there is any peripheral neuropathy that is going on in a diabetes patient. it also checks whether the patients glucose levels are controlled or not. The mechanism for glucose control are not well understood.Usage: Filament Test is a test used to check the neuropathy occurring in Diabetic Patients.
