dissipate rate
(Verb) to waste something/squander it
Usage: A parable in the Bible tells of a Prodigal Son; in the story the son wanted his share of the father's estate at the given moment, but when it was given to him, he went away and dissipated the money on trivial matters. Then a famine came, and he resorted to feeding swine. After being tempted to eat some of the pig's food himself, he decided he would be in a much better place if he went to work as a slave in his father's home, since he was too ashamed to claim he was his son anymore. But on his way back his father spotted him, ran up to him and embraced him, overjoyed that his son was lost and had now been found. This explains God's love for us whenever we get led astray, dissipate what's been given to us and make sinful mistakes, big and small, because He's always happy when we come back to him and He's willing to lift the spirits of those who are sorry for what they've done, restoring them.
