1. Generally, the reduction or diminution of a swelling.

2. Or: detumescence of the penis / detumescence of the clitoris , the loss of erection; the return of an erect penis or clitoris to a flaccid state after orgasm. The cessation of sexual stimuli causes loss of vasocongestion and the rapid detumescence of the penis within a few minutes; clitoral detumescence on the other hand is somewhat slower requiring anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes.
