cathodoluminescence rate
(Noun) Light given off by an object when it is struck by electrons, usually in a beam. Basis of cathode-ray tube technology (e.g. televisions) and an analytical scientific technique.
Usage: I used cathodoluminescence to verify the presence of the impurity in my experimental sample.
