Woolly Worm
Definition
(Noun) A worm approximately 3-4 inches in length, that has spines or wool and resembles a caterpillar, but much larger and can some can sting and leave an irritating rash behind. Common colors are brown and yellow while others are black and red. In some cultures (mountain lore) they were used (looked at) to determine winter weather. Especially in the blue ridge mountains of N.C.
