"Okichitaw" is a Plains Cree Martial Arts System based in Canada. The word "Okichitaw" comes specifically from the Plains Cree (Aboriginal) term, “Okichitawak”. This was a term used as an honourary title given to the group of native warriors who demonstrated significant acts of bravery and skill in hunting and warfare. Okichitaw is applied as a singular sense to identify one person with the previous noted skills. As well, it can also be interpreted into the application better known as “reckless bravery”, or by committing oneself fully.
