Aphthous Stomatitis
Definition
A recurring condition characterized by the eruption of painful ulcers (commonly called canker sores on the mucous membranes of the mouth. Evidence suggests that the condition is an immune reaction. Heredity, some foods, emotional stress, cancer, and fever are also possible causes.
