Definitions
(Abbreviation) Austin Literary Arts Maintenance Organization(Noun) Texas "shrine," really. A downtown San Antonio structure, originally a Roman Catholic mission, but gradually fortified - and in 1836 the site of the last stand of roughly 200 "Texian" Army members and assorted volunteers (James Bowie, William Travis, Davy Crockett, etc.) against about 1,800 Mexican Army besiegers/attackers. The Texans lost the battle, obviously (essentially all were wiped out), but won the war within weeks.
