(Adjective) The Abbasids were a dynasty of caliphs in the ancient Muslim Empire. They ruled from 750 C.E. to 1258 C.E. To be Abbasid was to be of the Abbasids.
Usage: An Abbasid mathematician called al Khwarizmi invented algebra.
