Definition
(Abbreviation) The Agulhas and Somali Current Large Marine Ecosystems Project. This multinational project is coordinated by a Project Coordination Unit based in Grahamstown, South Africa. It covers the territorial waters and high seas around Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa and Tanzania. It aims to enact ecosystem-based management of the two LMEs through the creation and implementation of TDAs and SAPs.Usage: The ASCLME Project is a GEF/UNDP Project addressing transboundary management issues in the Agulhas and Somali Current LME (Large Marine Ecosystem) areas of the western Indian Ocean.
